These Terms and Conditions govern your use of southjerseycontractors.com, operated by Lifted Websites (“we,” “us,” “our”). By using this site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

What This Site Is — and What It Isn’t

South Jersey Contractors is an independent editorial directory. We research and publish information about home-improvement contractors working across Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties.

🛠️ READ THIS PART

We are not a contractor. We do not perform, supervise, schedule, subcontract, price, warranty, or inspect any construction, repair, or improvement work.

We are not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor you find here. Your contract is with them, not us. We receive no portion of what you pay them.

We are not a lead broker. We do not auction inquiries or sell your project to multiple bidders, which is the core business model of the national platforms.

What Our Vetting Does and Doesn’t Guarantee

Our review process is a point-in-time check, not an ongoing guarantee. Before we publish a contractor, we verify their New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration against the Division of Consumer Affairs registry, confirm they carry commercial general liability insurance, and review their public reputation.

That verification reflects the date we performed it. Registrations lapse. Insurance policies are cancelled. Ownership changes hands. Crews turn over. A contractor who checked out clean in March can be a different company by November.

⚠️ Always verify before you sign

Look up any contractor’s 13VH registration number yourself at njconsumeraffairs.gov/hic and ask for a current certificate of insurance naming you. Under New Jersey law, any home-improvement job over $500 requires a written contract. Do not skip either step because a contractor appears in this directory.

No Endorsement, No Professional Advice

Inclusion in this directory is editorial coverage, not a recommendation that you hire a given company, and not a warranty of workmanship. Our cost guides, permit explanations, and hiring articles are general information for South Jersey homeowners — they are not engineering, legal, insurance, tax, or code-compliance advice. Building requirements vary by township, and coastal flood-zone rules in Ocean City or Sea Isle differ sharply from what applies inland in Glassboro. Confirm anything material with your municipal construction office or a licensed professional.

Advertising and Paid Placement

Some contractors pay for advertising, featured placement, or enhanced listings. Payment does not buy a favorable review and does not alter our verification standards. Every paid relationship is disclosed on the listing itself. Full details are in our Advertising & Listing Disclosure.

Content You Submit

If you submit a listing application, business description, photos, review, comment, or correction, you confirm that:

  • You own it or have the right to submit it.
  • It is accurate and not misleading.
  • It doesn’t infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, or privacy.
  • It isn’t defamatory, harassing, or unlawful.

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, display, edit for length and clarity, and archive that content on this site and in our promotional materials. You keep ownership. We may decline, edit, or remove any submission for any reason.

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl for bulk extraction, harvest, or systematically copy our listings, contact data, or written content for a competing directory or lead-generation database.
  • Use the site to send unsolicited commercial messages to listed contractors.
  • Submit false listings, fake reviews, or reviews about your own competitors.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its servers, or its data.
  • Reproduce our editorial content without written permission or clear attribution and a link.

Intellectual Property

Our original written content, guides, layout, and the South Jersey Contractors name and logo are our property or licensed to us. Contractor names, logos, and marks belong to those businesses and appear here for identification. Nothing here grants you a license to use any of it.

Copyright Complaints (DMCA)

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, send a written notice identifying the work, the infringing URL, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement that your notice is accurate under penalty of perjury, and your signature to: [DMCA EMAIL: buddy@liftedwebsites.com ]. We respond to valid notices promptly and may remove the material.

Third-Party Links

We link to contractor websites, township construction offices, state agencies, and other outside resources. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The site and everything on it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that listings are complete, current, or error-free, or that the site will be uninterrupted.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by New Jersey law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or from any dealings with a contractor you found through it — including property damage, cost overruns, delays, defective work, or personal injury. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the site, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit.

Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Camden County, New Jersey, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

Changes, Severability, and Contact

We may revise these Terms at any time; the updated version takes effect when posted, and the “Last Updated” date will change. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Questions go to our contact form or 888-863-7421.
